Kirby Gordon is an accomplished marketing executive with a career spanning nearly two decades in advertising, brand strategy, and corporate communications. After earning his degree from Rhodes University, Kirby began his professional journey in 2006 as International Promotion Manager at Strika Entertainment. He later joined The Jupiter Drawing Room Advertising Agency in 2007 as an Account Director, managing the Sanlam account and contributing to new business development.

 

Eager to deepen his expertise, Kirby pursued a Master’s Degree in Business Administration, studying at both the UCT Graduate School of Business in Cape Town and the Kellogg School of Management in Chicago. Following his studies, he returned to Sanlam in 2011, working on marketing strategy for one of South Africa’s largest financial services firms.

 

In 2013, Kirby took on the role of Head of Brand at Kalahari.com, overseeing above-the-line marketing and executing brand strategies for the e-commerce giant. Two years later, in 2015, he joined Safair as Vice President of Marketing, later expanding his responsibilities to include sales, distribution, public relations, and corporate communications.

 

Today, as Chief Marketing Officer at FlySafair, Kirby leads the airline’s marketing initiatives, focusing on customer acquisition, brand growth, and strategic communications. His leadership has played a significant role in FlySafair’s rise as one of South Africa’s most recognized and trusted low-cost airlines.

 

With a dynamic career that bridges advertising, e-commerce, and aviation, Kirby is known for his innovative approach to marketing and his commitment to driving impactful business growth.
