Enver Duminy is an accomplished executive leader with over 15 years of experience in the leisure, travel, and tourism industries, as well as a strong background in information technology and financial services. He holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of the Western Cape and an MBA from the Management College of Southern Africa.
Since 2013, Enver has served as the CEO of Cape Town Tourism, where he focuses on strategic planning and leadership to drive sustainable growth in the city’s tourism sector. Under his guidance, Cape Town Tourism has pursued ambitious objectives, including increasing international tourist arrivals from 1.3 million to 1.9 million annually, growing self-generated income from 15% to 25% of total revenue, and addressing tourism seasonality by promoting Cape Town as a year-round destination.
During Enver’s tenure, international tourist arrivals have grown to over 1.6 million annually, with notable increases in arrivals via Cape Town International Airport. The organization’s revenue from self-generated income has risen to 19%, and a long-term shift in seasonality patterns is underway. Enver continues to lead a dynamic team in creating innovative solutions to reduce reliance on government funding while enhancing Cape Town’s appeal as a high-yield tourism destination.
Before becoming CEO, Enver served as Executive: Tourism Services at Cape Town Tourism, overseeing key business units such as visitor services, industry services, and e-business operations. His experience also includes a six-and-a-half-year tenure on the board of South African Tourism, where he contributed to the strategic oversight of the national tourism authority.
Enver is highly skilled in digital strategy, SEO, marketing management, business planning, and negotiation. He is recognized as a forward-thinking leader with a passion for collaboration, innovation, and driving impactful results in the tourism industry.
