Who are Thompson’s Legal Alliance, and why are you sorely needed in this world?
At Thompson’s Legal Alliance, our unique edge lies in our commercial agility and fractional Chief Legal Officer (CLO) services tailored for startups. We believe significant impact is rarely achieved in isolation. Unlike many professionals, we offer a partnership model that fosters true collaboration with our clients. Through this approach, our clients become not just beneficiaries of our services but true partners in success.
Can you give us a practical example of how your service works?
Our services are structured on a subscription-based model, eliminating the traditional hourly billing method. This model includes our fractional CLO services, providing startups with high-level legal expertise and strategic guidance as they navigate their growth journey.
What are some of the challenges you’ve faced as a startup?
Navigating the evolving regulatory landscape has been a significant challenge, particularly in the realms of Web3 and blockchain technology. Additionally, building a curated client base in a niche market has required strategic focus and perseverance.
Do you have any latest and exciting company news to share?
Yes, we are excited to announce our partnership with the specialist international gaming law firm Whitesmans and US-based cryptocurrency accountants. These collaborations enhance our ability to offer comprehensive legal and financial services to our clients in the gaming and cryptocurrency sectors.
What’s on your business growth wish list?
Our growth wish list includes expanding our team by onboarding a new partner and increasing our global presence. We aim to continue building a diverse, expert team to better serve our international clientele.
What is your take on doing business in South Africa?
South Africa presents significant opportunities due to its diverse and dynamic economy, well-developed infrastructure, and strategic location as a gateway to other African markets. However, it also comes with challenges such as navigating complex regulatory environments, addressing socio-economic disparities, and managing issues related to political instability and corruption.
