The final Top 10 for Startup of the Year (SOTY) 2026 is officially locked in 🚀

From telehealth and travel fintech to proptech, food systems, edtech, agri-innovation, and hiring infrastructure, this year’s finalists reflect a sharp snapshot of the kinds of companies being built across South Africa right now.

Some are already operating at meaningful scale. Others are solving overlooked operational problems with surprising traction and clarity. But all ten have made it through a highly competitive selection process to reach the final stage.

On 14 May, they’ll pitch live at Innovation City in front of judges, investors, founders, operators, and the broader ecosystem.

But increasingly, Startup of the Year is becoming about more than the trophy itself. This year’s winner package is now sitting at close to R500,000 in value, bringing together cash, product support, founder infrastructure, legal strategy, visibility, and ecosystem access from some of the country’s leading ecosystem players.
